Tour Overview
Twelve days on an overland circuit through Kabul, Mazar-i-Sharif, Bamiyan and Herat. The route crosses the Salang and Shebar passes, takes in ancient Balkh and the Blue Mosque of Mazar, and gives Bamiyan a full day for the Buddhas, the Band-e-Amir lakes and the Dragon Valley. Between Bamiyan and Herat the drive runs through southern Afghanistan via Ghazni, Kandahar, Helmand and Farah, with a full day in Herat for the citadel, museums and historic bazaars.
